Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Our driver/guides will pick you up and take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your exciting 3-day Ultimate Gorilla Experience tour. The road journey will take you southwest Uganda, across the Equator, to Mbarara for lunch, and then on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Savannah grasslands. You will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and will primarily check in to your accommodation, relax, and prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the next day after a scenic drive through the Kigezi Highlands [commonly referred to as “the Switzerland of Uganda”] and banana plantations. Check into the lodge, relax, eat dinner, and stay the night.
Gorilla tracking and Lake Bunyonyi.
After an early breakfast and a briefing from a ranger guide, you will begin your adventure at the gorilla sanctuary. This rain forest is breathtakingly beautiful! The area has a dramatic steeply forested landscape and is densely forested, but it is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails that allow tourists access. The length of time it takes and the terrain vary depending on the movements of these massive primates. Once you’ve found a gorilla family, you’ll have an hour to spend with them. Spending time with these gentle and endangered giants is an amazing, exciting experience that should be savored for a long time.Get back to your lodging. After lunch, check out and make your way to Lake Bunyonyi by taxi. Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by lush, green-terraced hills that rise to a height of (2,200 – 2,478m) and its contorted shore, which encircles 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — you could gaze at them all day.
Return to Kampala.
After a leisurely breakfast, you may choose to swim in the lake, which is free of bilharzia and hippo, before embarking on your journey to Entebbe. Otherwise, return to Entebbe Airport or the hotel where you made your reservation. Expect en route lunch stops in Mbarara and the Uganda Equator line mark in Kayabwe (if you didn’t stop the first day) as well as the opportunity to buy some interesting art pieces. Continue your journey until late afternoon/evening, when you will be dropped off at the airport or accommodation of your choice. For this day, we recommend departing in the late afternoon or evening (if flying out).
